Lantern Islamic Theater

Lantern Islamic Theater is a registered 501(c)(3) Muslim performing arts theater based in Indiana that creates and presents Islamic-themed performing arts programs. It showcases youth-focused theatrical productions, acting classes, and theatre education events centered on Islamic values while offering a supportive, religiously accommodating space for Muslim performers and audiences.

It primarily serves Muslim youth, families, and communities—especially in central Indiana and beyond—by giving young Muslims opportunities to build confidence, learn theatre skills, and see positive Muslim representation on stage.

Its mission is to provide a safe, halal environment where young Muslims can express themselves artistically and access Islamic, family-friendly entertainment that reflects their faith, stories, and lived experiences.

What makes it stand out is that it is described as America’s first and only Muslim performing arts theater, focusing specifically on original Muslim-centered storytelling, faith-aligned artistic training, and community engagement through theatre.
